Great atmosphere, everybody was having fun. It was a bit crowded but of course you will feel in a crowded place considering the size of the bar and the amount of people. It actually says a lot about the place, very popular for locals in London.

Visited this bar a couple of times and every time we have had an AMAZING time. Firstly, the cabaret (Nightly) is fantastic and fun and secondly and mainly it's the bar staff that make it so friendly. No matter what time you arrive, the bar staff are always friendly, attentive and make you feel welcomed, especially Tomasz who is always friendly and smiling. With a lot of choice in bars around this area, THIS is the one you must visit for a truly amazing evening.

Leicester Square 6.70 Rainbow Pilsner One of Soho's Oldest Gay Pubs. The Admiral Duncan is located on Old Compton Street in the heart of Soho. The nearest Tube is Leicester Square, it’s a five minute walk to get here. The Admiral Duncan has been trading since at least 1832. The pub is named after Admiral Adam Duncan who defeated the Dutch fleet at the Battle of Camperdown in 1797. By the 1980s, the Admiral Duncan had become known as a gay pub, although it still attracting a diverse clientele. This pub was one of the first venues in London to have drag acts. In 1999, the pub was bombed by neo-nazi David Copeland resulting in three people being killed and eighty three being injured. This is a long and narrow one bar pub that is traditional at heart and accented by glitz and neon. The servery stretches down the right hand side and has a solid wood counter. Opposite the servery is a drinking ledge with sparkly wallpaper above. Seating is very limited to the odd poser table plus stools down the left hand side. At the far end of the bar is a stage with the pub’s name in red neon above. The beer line up was all keg with a choice of mainstream beers and cider plus a couple of beers from @portobellobrewing . I decided on a pint of the aptly named Rainbow Pilsner, my pint was excellent, price point was to be expected. There is no food menu available. I have visited the pub a few times over the years, like most of the pubs in Soho, it is usually completely packed out. This visit was around lunchtime on a weekday as I wanted to visit to see what the pub looked like without the hustle and bustle. At the time of visiting, there were a couple of punters having a lunchtime pint. I got talking to the chap behind the bar who told all about the pub and we chatted about how drag in pubs has become more widespread in recent times. The pub hosts Cabaret every Friday and Saturday Night from 8pm. Soho has always been a great place to enjoy a night out on the tiles. The @admiral_duncan is a vibrant pub that is definitely worth a visit as part of a Soho crawl. i Info correct on visiting 21.02.24

Due to some weird unfounded preconceived ideas about this place, i had never gone in to the Admiral. After 27 years i finally popped in and it was an absolute revelation. Friendly diverse crowd. Entertaining drag. Great bar staff. Good security. Decent drinks. A layout that could be a pain actually seems to work here. Absolutely brilliant. Its so great to be proved so so wrong about something! For the first time in 18 years, i actually cant wait to go back to Soho again to go here!

Love the vibe in this place! Was nice to come during the day when it's quiet, but can imagine it's amazing when it's a bit busier. The prices are decent and the decor is amazing! Definitely want to come here on a night out for drinks with my friends next time!!
